Welcome in Maastricht! Welcome at the Hotelmanagement school! Welcome on the site of Student Association Amphitryon!
Student Association Amphitryon has been established on 8 October 1951 by four students of the Maastricht Hotel Management School. Ever since that day we are affigliated to this education and we have a very good relationship with the school.
In our 60 year excistence, Amphitryon grew to the biggest HBO Association of the Netherlands with more then 6.000 former members and more than 700 members. These persons made Amphitryon what it is now adays! A living association consisting of sororities, fraternities, commissions and year clubs. The various horizontal and vertical connections show a huge variaty in the association, everybody can find his own spot!
Amphitryon thanks her existence because of the unbridled effort of her members and former members. They manage the Club bar, situated at the Hotelmanagement school grounds. The Club Bar is the living room and meetingplace of all first years. Friendships for life have been made here en will be made in the future as well.
We offer you the chance to develop yourself in different areas. You can organize your own event for 1.000 persons, manage your own bar for half a year (AND collect European Credits with this) or take place in the Board of the Association. Do you have some trouble with a subject at school? Amphitryon offers you free coaching by seniors! You can restyle the Club Bar and give away great parties or you can perform with the Houseband What's Cookin!?!
A dazzling, active association, that does not only think about herself, but also about others. The members collect money every year for Charity (the AIDS foundation or fight against Cancer), playful actions are performed for Charity and we even have our very own 'Plan El Salvador Child, called Moises Enmanuel.
Obviousley Amphitryon and the Maastricht Hotel Management School are a feedback group for each other. This is shown by the Faculty Directions meeting and on various other moments where Amphitryon and school see each other as equal participants. Aside this the school offers the association the opportunity to use the rooms to organize several events. We can state that Student Association Amphitryon contributes a lot to your general, social, personal and organisational skills for every Hotello who chooses to be part of the Burgundian Maastricht student life! Also the Hotelschooldirector says so:
'SA Amphitryon is the association for every Hotelmanagement student. The membership is a big additional value for you. I subscribe the importance of the membership of Amphitryon and I do recommend to become a member.'
